English

Our English Policy is based on the premise that literacy is central to learning and literacy skills are developed through the meaningful use of language.


The key elements of our English Curriculum are – Talking and Listening, Reading and Writing which includes Spelling and Grammar.

 

Assessment of the child's abilities in English occurs throughout the teaching and learning program.

 

Children work at varying levels with the Reading Recovery levels being applied when assessing a child's reading ability within the Early Childhood band of development.
