Principal's Report
Welcome to Term 3. I hope the children have had a lovely break. I have heard many stories of travels and excursions, play dates and family time. The children have certainly returned and have started the term being Centred in Learning.
MORE – Whole School Program for Week 1
Yesterday we launched our Term 3 Orientation program for the whole school. Each term we focus on a particular aspect of our school creed. When we highlight MORE- We Think MORE, We Encourage MORE, We Respect MORE and the children will be explicitly taught how to Make Our Responses Elevated. Our teachers will guide our students to expand their ideas, contributions, learning goals to Achieve MORE during Term 3.
Welcome
We Welcome Ms Ruta Valiulyte to our school community. Ruta is teaching Kindergarten. Kinder have had a fabulous start to Term 3 and have made Ms Valiulyte feel part of our community already.
Pupil Free Day
On Monday teachers spent the time sequencing and planning our XPLORE MORE Curriculum. This curriculum has Religious Education at its heart, enriched by interdisciplinary curriculum areas including The Arts, HASS, Science, Health and Technologies. It was a very productive day and is a work in progress. We will continue to devote time to our XPLORE MORE planning and units of work.
Protective Behaviours
We begin our Protective Behaviours Program in Week 3 of this term. This is an important component of the Health Curriculum. Each week you will receive a COMPASS notification about the upcoming lesson to ensure you are aware of what is being taught which enables you to have follow up conversations at home about your child’s network of trusted people, body safety rules, body boundaries, early warning signs and strategies which keep them safe.
Rostrum
Congratulations to Alyssa G who proudly and capably represented our school at the Rostrum Public Speaking Quarter Finals last night at Forrest Primary. Alyssa presented her speech, “Think Big” and was one of 8 speakers. Alyssa was runner up. We congratulate Alyssa for growing in courage to speak in front of an unfamiliar audience and representing our school with honour. Alyssa spent some of her holidays rehearsing her speech to deliver it confidently and elevate it to a high standard.
HATS ON
Children will need to wear their hats again from August which is at the end of next week- can you believe it? Please spend time locating their school hat ready for playtime from next Thursday.
