Class Placements 2025

The Leadership Team and staff will soon begin the process of creating class groups in 3/4 and 5/6 for next year. When compiling classes, we take into consideration several factors. To support our students, we have invited them to write 5 friends that they would like to see in their class for next year. When creating the classes, our staff will ensure each student has at least one friend from their list.

We believe that every teacher at our school is able to teach any child and will therefore not accept requests for specific teachers.  If there is information regarding your child and their class placement that you feel the school is not already aware of and would like considered, please email it to me by the end of next week.

The students will be told their class before our Step Up Afternoon on Wednesday 11 December.

Mission Fete and Colour Run - Clarification

Our Colour Run and Mission Fete is being held next Friday. The purpose of the Mission Fete is to raise money for Catholic Missions in the form of the $5 hand vouchers available over Compass and 10% of funds raised from the Colour Run. The additional funds raised from the Colour Run will be used to upgrade our bubblers. Students are encouraged to share the link to the Compass Tix website with family and friends who may like to sponsor them in the Colour Run. All vouchers and sponsorship money will need to be finalised by Thursday next week.

We are aware that the inclusion of these two events on the same day has caused confusion for our community and have therefore made the decision to separate them in 2025 with the Colour Run being scheduled for the last day of Term 3. However, we will continue to honour the wishes of our students and community to provide 10% of funds raised in the Colour Run to the Catholic Missions.

TeamKids Feedback

As we continue to welcome TeamKids as our preferred before and after school care provider it is important for the school to be aware of any feedback regarding the program, this may be positive or constructive, so that we can support TeamKids in delivering a service inline with the high expectations of our community. This Friday, I will be meeting with the Regional Operations and Partnerships Manager for the ACT and would like to include your voice in these discussions. I would ask that you email me in the coming days with any feedback that can contribute to the continued improvement of the TeamKids program.

Transportation to and from school - safety concerns

In the past few weeks there have been numerous concerns raised for the welfare of our students as they are transported to and from school, including the following:

  • Near misses in the carpark from children walking through and/or behind vehicles
  • Cars travelling faster than the 10km speed limit in the carpark
  • Students being dropped at the school grounds before 8:20am without parental supervision
  • Students displaying antisocial behaviour on designated school and public buses.

We would ask you to consider if any of these observations are related to you or your children and make the necessary adjustments to ensure these behaviours are discontinued.
