Principal's Report
Welcome back to Term 4! We hope that all of our families had an enjoyable school holidays and were able to enjoy the spring sunshine either in Canberra or on a trip away. Term 4 is always a productive term as we finish up our year of learning and prepare for transitions to new adventures in 2026.
Staffing Announcement - Nicole Mikkonen
You would have read yesterday that Nicole Mikkonen has been appointed Assistant Principal of St Matthew's Page from 2026. Nicole has been a key member of our community for 13 years and we will be sad to see her knowledge and expertise leave us. There will be ample opportunities for us all to farewell Nicole throughout the term.
School Photos - Wednesday 22 October
School photo day will be held next Wednesday 22 October. Children will wear their full summer uniform with correct accessories inline with our school uniform policy. Photos will commence immediately so it is imperative that children arrive to school on time. Orders are able to be placed in Compass.
Dance Display - Thursday 30 October 6pm
We look forward to performing our school dance display on Thursday 30 October. The gates will open at 5:45pm for students to head to their classrooms and guests to take their seats. It is sure to be a wonderful celebration of our students gifts and talents.
Carpark Redesign
Following quotes and consultation with the Community Council, Parish Pastoral Council and the Military Ordinariate, we have made the decision to reduce the scope of the carpark redesign from concrete kerbs and pathways to line marking, signage and wheel stops in car spaces. We are hoping to have the redesign completed over 2 days in the coming months so that we can spend the remainder of the year supporting our community with navigating the carpark before our increase of families and traffic in 2026.
School Hats
It is important that all children bring a green bucket hat to school each day, particularly with the longer days and stronger UV rays. The front office is not able to provide spare hats to children who do not have a hat for multiple days. The students have been informed that they are able to have one day with a hat off playing in the shade if they forget and will then need to sit out. Hats can be purchased through the front office or at most uniform suppliers in bottle green.
