Centred In Learning Gathering – This Friday at 9am Holy Faith Hall.

Formally known as Awards Assembly

This Friday morning we will gather as a community for our Centred In Learning Gathering. We will present the children named below with an affirmation for their learning over the past 2 weeks of term. 

The students will be presented with a certificate which outlines an affirmation from their teacher. These affirmations will highlight their application to their learning as well as affirm how they have been a person of Wisdom, Courage or Peace.

You are welcome to join us.

School Hours

At St Thomas More we are Centred in Learning. Learning begins at 8:50 am. Our teachers have lessons and learning experiences planned and begin their teaching day as soon as the class walks in the door. Students who are regularly late, miss important and valuable explicit teaching experiences which are designed to set them up for success for the day.

Supervision

A reminder that teacher supervision is provided from 8:20 am until 3:30 pm. Teachers and staff are not required to be on the premises outside of these hours and often have meetings and planning to do. Some meetings are not on site which means they need to leave the premises at 3:30.

Please leave and collect your children at school within these hours- 8:20 am until 3:30 pm. Alternatively, you can make use of our Before and After School Care Program.

Are you book week ready?

Mrs Reid has wonderful celebrations planned for next week. Please see page 5 for further details. A note has also been sent home with the eldest child.

Read-More-A-Thon

There were some cosy toes on Monday for those children who returned their reading log last Friday. The green Read-More-A-Thon log is due this Friday and another incentive will be awarded.

Thank you to the sponsors- we already have $190 to go towards the purchase of reading material for classroom libraries. Thank you for supporting the love of reading at STM!

Permission Notes

After a discussion and feedback at our recent School Community Council, permission notes are now available on our website. We will still send a paper copy home with your child. If you misplace your notes, you can print another one from the website and return that to your child’s class teacher.
