Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Friday is World Teachers’ Day.

World Teachers' Day 2020

In what has been an unprecedented year, our teachers and support staff have all continued to show their professionalism and resilience, striving every day to do their best for our students. The staff here at STM work very hard to ensure your child receives the best care and support possible. I asked some of our students what they love about their teacher…

Riley H -

I like the way she doesn’t say, “You’re wrong”. She really helps you to get better.

Daisy –

She cheers you up if you’re feeling sad.

Alice –

My teacher shows us new methods when we’re doing Maths problems and I can choose which one suits me.

Thomas N –

I really like how my teacher teaches different ways of doing things depending on how you learn.

Ivy N –

She’s really nice and always in a happy mood. She helps us in all the subjects.

Flynn –

No offence to you Mrs Wiley but I love that she’s really young. She cares about us.

Olive –

She’s hands-on and fun. She does activities that I love doing.

Tamara –

My teacher is kind and friendly. She’s always helpful.

Vincent –

Sometimes my teacher lets us go out to lunch and recess early. I like that she gives people warnings before they get in trouble.

Ashlea W –

We sometimes get to have free choice. Our teacher also makes up fun games in Sport. She gives us lots of praise.

Charlotte –

I love that both my teachers read really good stories to us.

Quade –

Both my teachers are really nice. One of my teachers tells really funny jokes.

Francesca R –

Our teacher teaches us a lot of things. She always makes cool things for us.

Humphrey –

She lets us have free play. We haven’t had free play for ages. I love the fill up buckets. My teacher gives us stickers.

Beautiful Minds

This workshop was recommended to me by a parent who had a child participate in the program. It looks very worthwhile. If you’re interested click on the link to find out more.  https://beautifulminds.com.au/workshops/

Class Placements 2021

The teaching staff and Leadership Team will soon begin the process of creating the class groups for next year. When compiling classes, teachers are asked to take into consideration several factors: learning styles and abilities are of first concern; behavioural issues and special needs are also a high priority. To ensure the best learning environment for all, the teachers will determine which students should be together. This process takes many weeks. If you have a specific request regarding class placement that you would like to discuss with me, please contact Julie Ogden to make an appointment. If you made a request last year, you would have to make a time with me again – the requests do not carry over from year-to-year. I do not take requests for specific teachers.

** If you are not returning to STM next year, please let us know ASAP. We have several families on our waiting list**.

Congratulations

Well done to our Confirmation candidates who were confirmed on Sunday by Fr Josh. It was a beautiful Mass.
