Principal's Report
Father's Day Breakfast
We look forward to gathering with our families on Friday morning from 8:15am for the Father's Day breakfast. Thank you to Jacqui and Jo, our parent contacts from 5/6G and Kindergarten, for coordinating the event and to all the volunteers who will cook the BBQ on the day. In addition to the bacon and egg rolls, we will also be holding egg and spoon races for a bit of entertainment and fun!
We wish all of our Fathers a happy Father's Day on Sunday and hope that your families spoil you.
Open Classrooms
Following the Father's Day Breakfast, we will gather in the courtyard to present affirmations for the last fortnight and then move into our Open Classrooms for 2023. Open Classrooms are an opportunity for our families to celebrate our learning with us. Here is what you can expect in each cohort:
Kinder | Maths Rotations and Sharing our Learning |
Year 1 | Sharing our Learning and ICT Activity |
Year 2 | STEM and Sharing our Learning |
Years 3/4 | Sharing our Learning and Artwork |
Years 5/6 | Presentation of Learning across Term 3 |
10:00-11:00 | Families from Kindergarten and 5/6W are invited to attend the Parish Mass with their children. |
Legacy Week - 100 Years of Legacy
It was an exciting start to Legacy Week with our school having the privilege of being involved in the Legacy Torch Relay to commemorate 100 years of Legacy. The relay commenced in France on April 23 and moved through Campbell on Monday morning. The school lined the top of the oval on Vasey Cres to view the torch being passed on between torch bearers. Thank you to Kate and Jess, our DSMs, for organising this opportunity for our school.
Shade Installation - Outdoor Classroom and Sandpit
Last week the sandpit and outdoor classroom took shape with the installation of shade over these areas. Shading these areas will support their safe use throughout the entirety of the school year and are a welcome addition as we move towards the warmer months of 2023. We thank the Department of Education for selecting St Thomas More's for the School Upgrade Funding which has allowed these structures to be built. The funding also includes the replacement of the shade over the junior playground.
