Dear Parents and Carers,
This Sunday our Year 3 students commence their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist - another central element of our Catholic faith. Eucharist comes from the Greek eucharistia, meaning thanksgiving. When we receive the Eucharist we are nourished spiritually, brought closer to God. Registration for the Sacrament will take place straight after 9:30am Mass this Sunday, the 2nd of May. It is open to all students in Yr. 3 and above.
The St Thomas More Parish is inviting girls to sign up to be altar servers. (The invitation is also open to boys). If your child has made their First Eucharist and would like to serve, please contact the parish office.
ANZAC Day liturgy
Thank you for attending the ANZAC Day liturgy last Friday; it was a a great opportunity for the school community to come together and keep the tradition of ANZAC Day alive for our children.

Cross Country Carnival
The Cross-Country Carnival today was a huge success. We couldn’t have done it though without all the parent volunteers. Particular thanks to Mrs Pam Sixsmith for all her organisation.

Congratulations
Congratulations to Ruby Kenny, Dominic Shoebridge, Riley Bransdon and Charlie Jorgensen for competing in the ACT Primary Schools Swimming Carnival which was held at Stromlo Pool today. You did STM proud!
Mother’s Day

On Friday, May 7, parents are invited to attend our Mother’s Day breakfast. The event is being coordinated by our Yr. 1 parent contact, Fiona Scott, and with the help from our wonderful Yr. 1 parents, breakfast will be served from 8:15am. Please continue to send in donations for the Mother's day raffle. The raffle will be drawn at morning assembly.
Open Week at STM is next week…

Last Chance to Buy Tickets Tomorrow
After the pandemic put paid to any celebrations of Mother’s day last year, Year 1 is looking forward to hosting an extra special Mother’s Day breakfast for the whole STM community next Friday 7 May from 8.15am to 9.00am.
While we may not be able to travel, Year 1 is bringing the international to us with a special visit from Le Petit Breton who will be whipping up piping hot crêpes to warm up your autumn morning.
Miam!
Vegan and gluten free options will be available but unfortunately our French friends cannot guarantee no cross-contamination for coeliac members of the school community. However, other breakfast options will be available for you.
Hot tea, coffee and poppers will also be served and children will be able to collect a rainbow rose courtesy of the one and only GG’s flowers to give to their mother, grandmother or carer.
The cost of the breakfast is $8 per family and can be purchased through the QKR App. Raffle tickets are also available on QKR for $5.00 per ticket, limited to 1 per family. We look forward to seeing you there.
Bon appétit and merci!
