Pupil Free Day and Affirmations
We have our first of two allocated pupil free days this Friday. This means the students, and hopefully their families, will have a 4-day long weekend. We will see you all back at school on Tuesday. Affirmations will be published for Weeks 5-7 next week and distributed next Friday.
Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Parent Survey
We have had 36 parents complete the Tell Them From Me survey since it opened last week. This represents 32% of our families. In order to have accurate data, we require further responses from our families.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. You can access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device here:

2023 Enrolments
We have spent the past 2 days welcoming our new enrolments for 2023 and sharing our beautiful community with them. We are so excited to welcome new families to our school in Kindergarten and older grades. We understand that you may have changes happening for your own family next year. If this includes your child finishing at St Thomas More's at the end of 2022 please email luke.donnelly@cg.catholic.edu.au. If you are considering leaving we would love you to get in touch so we can support you in this decision.
Floriade at St Thomas More's
We had such an exciting time last Thursday planting bulbs with our buddies. Thank you to the teachers, Mr Hallam, Mrs Ogden, Mrs Holl, parents and grandparents who were able to plant with us!

Sacrament of First Holy Communion
Reception of the Sacrament of First Holy Communion will take place on Sunday 19th of June at 9:30am. A retreat day will be held for the students on Wednesday 15th of June. Thank you Father Emil and Ms Strmota, our School Chaplain for facilitating this retreat.
St Thomas More’s Feast Day
We are getting excited about our upcoming St Thomas More Feast Day Celebrations. We will begin the day with our first whole school Mass at the Church. Throughout the day, all students will have the opportunity to contribute to our whole school mural which has been designed to reflect our school values of wisdom, courage, and peace. These values were inspired by the life of our Patron Saint St Thomas More. We would love community members to join us during our Feast Day celebrations at 1:00pm for a BYO picnic lunch on the oval, weather permitting.

Last week, our Mini Vinnies members had a visit from Matt and the Vinnies Night Patrol Van.
Matt spoke to us about Homelessness in Australia and then focused on what it would be like for those living in Canberra. He informed us about what the Night Patrol Van is and what the volunteers do when they take it out.
We then had a chance to look through the supplies that have been donated and had a think about what we might be able to donate in the upcoming winter appeal.
Then it was off to the kitchen where Matt and our “volunteers” served us hot milo to warm us up.
The students had so much to say about the experience:
“Even really small things can make a big difference in people’s lives.”
“I liked that we learnt about how it would feel to be a Vinnies volunteer and how we could help.”
“I learnt that it is super hard for homeless people and how one simple gesture can improve so much. One jumper or a drink, can transform someone’s life. It makes me so grateful for what I have.”
This was the perfect lead up for us to the Vinnies Winter Appeal which we will be launching in the coming weeks.
