What a wonderful start the term it has been. Our Dance Display was a great success last week with the rain holding off. This was the first time we have held such an event in the courtyard and the feedback was that it was wonderful to see the students have room to perform their dances and for the parents to be able to spread out so that everyone had a great view. We will look into the possibilities of holding future Dance Displays either in this format or at a local High School theatre. Thank you to Miss Shekiralea for choreographing and teaching the dances, Ms. Mikkonen for weaving the Creed into a creative script, Mrs Lawson and Miss Strmota for leading our School Choir, all the staff for rehearsing and preparing costumes and of course to the children for their enthusiasm and skill.
Kindergarten Orientation 2023
We look forward to welcoming the Kindergarten cohort for 2023 to the school tomorrow morning for our Kindergarten Orientation. The Kindergarten teachers for 2023 will be Samantha Mance and Kristy Poole and both teachers will be able to spend time with the children tomorrow. The session will run from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at school with our families then encouraged to head to Boundless to commence making connections with one another.
Grandparents Day
The school is sure to be a hub of excitment with our Grandparents Day on Friday morning. Our visitors will gather in Holy Faith Hall for a Centred in Faith Gathering to launch our School Creed followed by time spent with their grandchildren in classrooms. At 10:15 am the special visitors will be invited to attend a morning tea put on by our Kindergarten families. Thank you to Kath Hansen and our Kindergarten families for supplying the food for our Grandparents and special friends.
Christmas Mass
The Christmas Eve Mass this year will be held in the school courtyard and the Parish is looking for children and families who would like to be involved. Your child might like to be involved in the nativity, say a reading or sing carols in the choir. If you are in Canberra for Christmas we would urge you to become involved.

Colour Run
We have put a call out too many businesses across Canberra and are pleased to announce that we have a major sponsor for the Colour Run, Defence Bank. We have also received support from Big W, Brodburger, Kidzplore and Canberra Indoor Climbing! The organising committee will be meeting next Monday from 2:30 - 3:00 pm. If you are interested in forming the organising committee or know of any business who would be willing to sponsor the Colour Run please email luke.donnelly@cg.catholic.edu.au
Nut Free Policy
Parents please be reminded that St Thomas More's has a nut free policy. It is extremely important for the wellbeing and safety of our students. Please do not use nut based products such as peanut butter, nutella and pesto for your child's lunch.

Special Lunch Day Thursday 10th November
We will be having a special lunch day for our students on Thursday 10 November.
There will be both hot and cold food available. You can order on the QKR app. Just log into Qkr and then click on St Thomas More's Canteen. Orders close today at 4.00 pm on Wednesday 9th November.
Your child will still need morning tea as all orders will not be delivered until lunchtime.
No orders can be placed directly with the school.
