Colour Run
Tomorrow is the first day that Colour Run envelopes may be returned to school with money raised. We are hoping to raise at least $6,000 for the purchase of new Chromebooks so that the school can continue to provide our 1 to 1 device program in Years 3-6 without placing the burden on families to provide the device in addition to school fees. Thank you to Paris Dounoukos, Irena Morschel and Khara Williams for actively seeking sponsorship for the event.

Year 6 Leadership 2023
Throughout the year, the 5/6 teachers and school leadership team have been working with our Year 5/6 students to review the student leadership model at the school and discuss changes that will occur next year. You may remember a question in our parent survey asking for your opinion on giving our leaders the opportunity to lead an initiative of their choosing. The overwhelming result from parents, students, and staff is that we would like to see our Year 6 students given more opportunities to lead. Therefore in 2023, whilst we will continue to have School Captains and Sports Captains, we may also have Sustainability Captains or ICT Captains. The different captain roles will be based on the cohort and the initiatives they may or may not propose and our current Year 5 students are developing letters to the community regarding their leadership potential. We also wish to acknowledge that not all children have the desire to lead as a captain so we will not be moving to a model seen in many schools where every student in Year 6 is given a role. Our 5/6 students will be referred to as leaders because they lead by example across the school. Those children in Year 6 taking on leadership initiatives, such as Sports Captain, will be referred to as Captains against one of our areas within the School Creed.
Class Requests 2023
A reminder that any requests need to be sent to me by the end of this week as we have now commenced the process of class placements for 2023.

Centred in Faith Gathering
Thank you to Year One who ran our Centred in Faith Gathering last week. They broke open our School Creed and demonstrated how we can ‘respect more to grow in peace’. On Friday the 18th of November, Year 2 will present our Centred in Faith Gathering on Courage. We hope to see family members of Year 2 students at our gathering.
Mission Fete
Thank you to Miss Tozer and Mrs Tarleton and their classes who ran our annual Mission Fete last Thursday. We raised over $1276.00 for Catholic Missions. During October we celebrated World Mission Month. This year Catholic Mission is working collaboratively with the Church of Ethiopia and their local communities to provide life-changing opportunities to those most in need. This year our Mission Fete had a STEM focus, our Year 5/6 students organised a number of activities where students were required to use their science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills.
Parish Mass
5/6 White and Kindergarten will be attending our Parish Mass on this Friday the 4th of November at 10:00am. Parents are most welcome to attend.
