Parent Teacher Interviews and Semester Two Reports
Parent Teacher interviews are being held on Monday and Tuesday 5 and 6 December. Bookings are now available via Compass. The interviews will be an opportunity for the teachers to discuss your children's academic, social and emotional progress across the term. This will be an important discussion given the removal of comments on reports across all schools in the Archdiocese. Semester Two Reports will be uploaded to Compass on Friday of Week 9.
Colour Run
Tomorrow is the final day for cash to be sent in for the Colour Run. QKR! payments will close on Friday morning so that raffle tickets can be written for the grand prize draw at 2:00 pm. We will gather in the hall for the prize draw at 2:00 pm and then commence the run on the oval at around 2:30 pm. Don't forget to dress your children in white or light clothes and pack a poncho or towel for them to cover up when traveling home!
We are hoping to raise at least $6,000 for the purchase of new Chromebooks so that the school can continue to provide our 1-to-1 device program in Years 3-6 without placing the burden on families to provide the device in addition to school fees. Thank you to Paris Dounoukos, Irena Morschel and Khara Williams and Caitrin Dunn for organising businesses to sponsor our event.

Kinder Nativity and End of Year Celebration
We look forward to the presentation of the Nativity by our Kindergarten class next week. All families are most welcome to attend and to stay for lunch with their children following the nativity.
Year 6 Leadership 2023
On Tuesday our Year 3-6 students gathered in the hall to listen to speeches from our Year 5 students who have nominated for School Captain. Twenty students bravely stood before us to tell us what leadership qualities they possessed, how these relate to our School Creed, and what initiatives they could bring to the role. We look forward to announcing our 2023 School Captains in next weeks More Reminders.
School Fees 2023
Catholic Education has taken careful consideration has been taken in reviewing the fees for 2023 to continue to support our school’s requirements while keeping increases manageable and fair for families in the current economic environment.
I can now advise you that in 2023, our fee for a single student will be $1153 per term an increase of 7% to match current inflation.
This fee combines Tuition, School levies, and Building Fund and will help to keep pace with rising salaries and running costs to ensure our school continues to deliver the quality education for our students that you would expect.
In 2023, sibling discounts for tuition fees will continue to be reduced to align with our Catholic Archdioceses around Australia.
Please see attached the schedule of fees for 2023 and the changes to sibling discounts for tuition fees.
As always, if fees create financial concerns for you, I encourage you to make an appointment with me to discuss how we can help. It is a policy in the Archdiocese that no student should be refused enrolment, excluded or disadvantaged because their family is unable to afford fees. Any discussion on fees would be strictly confidential.
If you have any questions regarding school fees for 2023, please feel free to contact me.

Celebrating our Learning

Centred in Faith Gathering
Thank you Year 2 for a wonderful Centred in Faith Gathering. The Year 2 students demonstrated how we can show courage at school. Courage is one of our school values and is a major element of our School Creed. They also spoke to us about how ‘encouraging more’ is supporting others to show courage. Our next CIFG will take place on the 2nd of December at 12pm when the Kindergarten children present the nativity.
End of Year Mass- 9:30am Friday 9th of December
Please note this date in your diaries. We invite members of our school community to join us as we prepare for Jesus’ coming to us at Christmas.
Yours in Christ,
Samantha Mance
Religious Education Coordinator
Vinnies Christmas Appeal
Some of our families have been asking if there is a particular need for any items for the Christmas Appeal. We are still in need of more of the following items:
- Cereal
- Drinks- Soft drinks, juice, cordial
- Hot drink items- tea, coffee, hot choc, longlife milk
- Spreads
- Christmas Puddings, Mince Pies, longlife custard
- Christmas crackers
We would like to encourage our Year 5/6 students and their families to continue giving as their baskets are not as overflowing as other grades!
From the DSM Desk
We have had increased attendance at our Wednesday Lunchtime defence club which has been wonderful. Our older students have been a great asset in helping to assist the younger students with activities. In recent weeks we have run craft, obstacle courses and scavenger hunt activities. We welcome all students to attend especially those of serving Military members.
Colour Run
There are only a few more sleeps until the Colour Run! This is our first major fundraiser in many years and will go towards a new bank of Chromebooks. Here is some information for the day:
Final Funds Collection: Cash can be returned in envelopes on Thursday morning and Qkr! will remain open until Friday morning.
Timetable: Friday 25 November – Prize draw from 2:00-2:30 pm, Colour Run on the oval from 2:30-3:00 pm. Parents are welcome to attend.
Clothing: Students can wear free clothes for the whole day! The colour will show up best on white or light coloured clothing. Although it does wash out, we encourage you not to send your child/ren to school in their best shoes/clothing that day. Feel free to dress up with fun in mind. Wigs, crazy hair, tutus etc.
Transport home: As we expect this to be a messy event, we will be finishing the day outside, encouraging students not to re-enter the school. We know that some students ride the bus home or get into a car, and we want to ensure a clean ride home. Therefore, we recommend sending a poncho or bringing a towel to sit on. We do not encourage clothes changing as logistically we cannot accommodate every student changing at the same time in our facilities.
We want to thank everyone for their amazing efforts in donations and our sponsors for providing us with so many prizes! We are very much looking forward to a colourful, fun-filled day and can’t wait to share our grand total with you all.
