Campbell Community Event

Our Campbell Community Event scheduled for Friday 20 October is certainly starting to take shape. We have 5 food vans booked, the ADFA band have conducted a site visit and our Parish Pastoral Council and TeamKids have committed to setting up a Kids Corner with face painting, glitter tattoos and craft!

In the coming week, we will be sending home 10 flyers with each family. We would encourage you to share these flyers with family, friends and colleagues so that we can really make this a community celebration to remember!

5/6 Camp

Gwen Tarleton, Vanessa Miller, Ariana Strmota and I are currently in Stanwell Tops for our 5/6 Camp. The camp is an opportunity for our students to push themselves out of their comfort zone, come together as a team and discuss their future leadership potential both in transition to high school and moving into Year 6. We look forward to sharing photos of our trip!

Parent Engagement Grant

We are still waiting for the area outside 5/6W to be complete and ready for the wicking garden beds to be installed. Keep an eye out on Compass in the event that we call a mini working bee one afternoon next week!

Students Leaving St Thomas More's in 2023

At this stage, we have only received official notification from 4 families that their children will not be continuing at St Thomas More's in 2024. If your child is in Kindergarten to Year 5 and they are leaving in 2023 we would ask that you email the front office or myself by the end of this week. 

Community Council Email

To continue our goal of improving parent engagement the Community Council have created a designated email for parents to contact us. The council's email is: STM.communitycouncil@cg.catholic.edu.au. We would encourage any parents with suggestions for council matters to email the council on this email address.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Thank you to those families who enrolled their children to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday. The Sacrament will be celebrated on Sunday 29 October at the 9.30 Mass. If you were unable to attend the registration session and would like your child to be involved please email the Parish directly Campbell@cg.org.au

Centred in Faith Gatherings

5/6 White will run the Centred in Faith Gathering on the 22nd of September. They will describe how we can know what God desires of us through the power and the workings of the Holy Spirit.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

If you are an adult who is interested in being baptised or receiving the other Catholic Initiation Sacraments, information sessions at the Parish Centre at Dickson are beginning on Tuesday 17th of October. Please contact the Parish Campbell@cg.org.au for further details.

We have two more Defence lunchtime clubs this term. Don't forget if you are free next Wednesday the 20th September we are having our Defence Club end of term Party and we extend an invitation for parents to attend and picnic on the school grounds with a BYO lunch and then to participate in our craft activity. 

For those families that made plates we are expecting to get them back in November, but we will keep you posted with more information on the exact delivery date, as it becomes available.

Next term we are hoping to start a wellbeing drop in club for our year 5/6 Defence students and open this to any students in year 5 and 6 cohorts. We will use the learning support/wellbeing room for this. Initially,  the space will be open once a week at lunchtime. Students can read, play board games, do mindful colouring in or chat with their mates or with one of the Defence mentors or wellbeing officer Ariana Strmota. Don't forget if students have anything they would like to see happen during Defence club or any suggestions there is a Defence student suggestion box at the front office.
