Class Placements 2024 - repeat notice
The Leadership Team and staff will soon begin the process of creating class groups in 3/4 and 5/6 for next year. When compiling classes, we take into consideration several factors. This process involves many discussions and ensuring we are making the best fit for each and every child. To support our students, we will be inviting them to write 5 friends that they would like to see in their class for next year. When creating the classes, our staff will ensure each student has at least one friend from their list. You may like to discuss this list with your child at home in the coming weeks.
We believe that every teacher at our school is able to teach any child at our school and will therefore not accept requests for specific teachers. If there is information regarding your child and their class placement that you feel the school is not already aware of and would like considered, please email it to me. Requests from previous years will not be taken into consideration.
The students will be told their class before our Step Up Afternoon on Wednesday 13 December.

Year's 5 and 6 were busy this morning building our new wicking garden beds. We will be filling them on Friday to be ready to plant some summer crops. Why not join us between 9:30 and 10:30 for a spot of gardening?

Today we had our first session in Orienteering. We really enjoyed it and look forward to the next session.

Remembrance Day
This year, Remembrance Day falls on Saturday 11th November. At St Thomas More’s, we will be commemorating this event on Friday 10th November with an assembly.
As part of the Remembrance Day ceremony, we would like to have a commemoration display of loved ones that have served in the Defence Force and have passed away. We ask any families who wish to be involved in the display to bring in a photograph of their loved ones. (Please send in a copy of the photo, or a photo of the photo - not the original please). These will be up on our Remembrance Day display to help the children understand the importance of remembering those that are not with us.
Final reminder - we are seeking current defence members that would like to volunteer to be a part of our ceremony - it could be to read, to bugle or lay a wreath in uniform. It is always much appreciated when families give their time to our school to help create awareness in our community of the unique role of Defence life. If you would like to volunteer please send us an email.
Defence club continues on Wednesday for all years and wellbeing hub for year 5 and 6 on Fridays.
