Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 2. Well it’s not exactly as we thought it would be, but we will get there. Firstly, thank you to those parents who can keep their children at home. I know it is challenging and it’s probably not your preference.
I’m not sure how long remote learning will continue for, but I suspect it won’t be for too much longer. Every day there are new reports coming from the media, government and health authorities. The issue is that it often doesn’t align! As soon as I receive any information from Catholic Education, I will let you know. In the meantime, we will continue to cater for your children as best we can.
I have been reminded many times recently of the wonderful community we have here at STM. So many kind gestures and messages of support and gratitude. We really are in this together and I know we couldn’t do it without your continued support.
Enrolment for 2021
Enrolment is open for new families. Unfortunately, we are unable to have an Open Day and personalised tours. If you could pass on our information to any prospective families that would be very much appreciated. Please also share our enrolment information on Facebook too. If you have a Pre-Schooler don’t forget to enrol. We had a waiting list for a few classes this year, so make sure you enrol in May!
Hours of Supervision
A reminder that students will be supervised from 8:30am in the morning and pick up is to be no later than 3:15pm. Thank you for your cooperation.
Online Safety
Below are links for a web-based child safety (child abuse and grooming) resource. The Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation warn of things parents need to be alerted to. The resources are available through the www.accce.gov.au, ACCCE on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ACCCEaus/ and Twitter https://twitter.com/ACCCE_AUS.
Book Club
Book club orders from Term 1 have arrived. They can be collected from Mrs Ogden in the office.

Thank you Father Emil
Father Emil has created this beautiful cross for us to use when we return to having our Centred in Faith Gatherings. Thank you Father Emil for all that you do for our community.
Religious Education and Prayer this Term
Your child’s classroom teacher will continue to plan high quality Religious Education lessons for your children to participate in. Classroom teachers are also coming up with a number of innovative ways to pray with your children and to help your children to participate in Christian Meditation. Mrs Bramanathan has prepared the following graphic to help your child continue to participate in Christian Meditation.
Yours in Christ,
Samantha Mance
There are a few changes with the Library borrowing this term. For students at school, Library borrowing is on THURSDAYS. Please remember to return library books and encourage your child to borrow each week. It is important that books are transported to and from school in a Library Bag.
Thanks to the families who requested and collected remote loans via the Oliver catalogue. I appreciate your patience with the collection process, and I will aim to improve a few technical problems we experienced for next time. I will offer another opportunity to borrow remotely, so please keep an eye out for more information. A reminder that our students also have access to 1000s of ebooks and audio books on SORA. Login instructions provided.
The Children's Book Council have rescheduled Book Week to take place in Term 4 this year. The dates will be 17th-23rd October. Very much looking forward to fun times ahead!
Happy Reading!
