Staffing News
It is with great sadness that we announce Julie Ogden will be leaving us at the end of 2022 after 20 years of service at St Thomas More's. Julie will be moving with her husband Gerard as he pursues a new opportunity. I know you would all agree with me when I say we are losing the heartbeat of our school. Julie is an exceptional person who has been the first point of contact for all of us at St Thomas More's with her approachable, friendly and supportive manner. The position of Front Office Manager is currently being advertised at careers.cg.catholic.edu. and will close at the end of next week.
Disco
Wow! What a fantastic night it was for our students at the disco last Thursday. There were prizes on the night, prizes in the morning the next day, yummy treats to enjoy and glow sticks to create an atmosphere. Thanks to the efforts of Paris and the Year 2 families we were able to raise $1,300 for our school! This fundraising was a combination of ticket sales, major sponsorship from CDF and sponsorship from Woolworths Majura Park, Big W Majura Park, BrodBurger and Campbell IGA. A big thanks must also go to TeamKids who put on the disco and had staff on hand to supervise. After having the raffle draw on Friday morning, we announced our major fundraiser for 2022, a school Colour Run to be held on Friday 25 November.
Rostrum Quarter Final
We have been waiting a few weeks to announce some exciting news following the Rostrum Quarter Final on Thursday 28 July. Now that Riley has returned from a family holiday, we are pleased to tell the community that she was the winner on the evening. Riley has now progressed to the Rostrum Semi Final, which we will be hosting, next Thursday 25 August. We wish Riley all the best in the Semi Final.
